Biography

Amir Kavandinejad is a seasoned structural engineer with over three decades of experience in heavy civil construction and project management. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Science and Technology and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, Canada. His expertise encompasses civil engineering, construction project management, constructability review of documents, contract administration, and comprehensive project oversight from estimating through to completion.

Amir’s extensive project portfolio includes major transportation infrastructure such as the Highway 401 widening extension, Renforth Gateway BRT, Georgetown South Weston Tunnel and track work, and the structural rehabilitation of PEV and Addington bridges. His municipal project experience covers construction of pumping stations in the Oakville–Halton Region, gas line restoration in Toronto, and the Southeast Collector Tunnel. He possesses advanced technical skills in structural design and analysis, with proficiency in SAP2000 and STAAD.Pro, and extensive experience in concrete and steel structural design in accordance with ACI, AISC, and applicable building codes.

Beyond heavy civil construction, Amir has significant experience in building construction projects as a project manager and construction supervisor across low-rise and high-rise residential, industrial, commercial, and institutional developments. His comprehensive skill set includes site supervision, problem-solving, and leadership in complex international construction initiatives. Amir has been collaborating with MCCI and founder Matt Mortazavi since the early 2000s, bringing proven expertise in managing diverse construction projects and delivering technical solutions for challenging engineering problems.
